Released in September 2004, the Mercedes-Benz S203 Series II (S203.II) C-Class Estate was fitted with newly developed front and rear axle bearings which provided greater cornering agility, a more direct steering ratio and revised suspension settings. In August 2005, the range was expanded with the introduction of the C 230. The Mercedes-Benz S203.II C-Class Estate could be identified by its clear-lens headlamps, new front bumper with a larger lower air intake and radiator grille with three more obliquely angled transverse slats. Inside, there was a new instrument cluster in a chronometer design with chrome surrounds, centre console with chrome trim, new climate controls and switchgear.
