Recalls: Holden ZB Commodore
Overview
Manufacturers, or importers, issue recalls for defects or faults which have the potential to cause injury. Generally, manufacturers will inform the original buyers if their vehicle is subject to a recall and of the steps required to remedy the defect or fault. Recalls: Holden ZB Commodore
2018 model year Holden ZB Commodore: incorrectly installed rear seatbelts
In April 2018, a recall was issued for 2018 ‘model year’ Holden ZB Commodore vehicles because the seatbelts for the rear left and right seating positions may have been installed incorrectly. If the vehicle was involved in a collision, the seatbelt may not operate as designed and passengers in the outer rear seats would be at an increased risk of injury. 2018 model year Holden ZB Commodore Diesel: fuel leak and fire hazard
In October 2018, a recall was issued for 2018 model year Holden ZB Commodore vehicles that had 2.0-litre turbo diesel engines. In these vehicles, a clip on the fuel hose bundle could rub on the fuel pump return hose and this could cause a fuel leak. If the leaking fuel were to fall onto the exhaust, it could ignite and pose a fire hazard. For the VINs of the recalled Holden ZB Commodore vehicles, please see PRA 2018/17061.
2019-20 model year Holden ZB Commodore: defective seat frame weld
In November 2019, recall campaign N192278300 was issued for 2019-20 model year Holden ZB Commodore vehicles. In these vehicles, a cross-member at the base of the rear seat frame may have been improperly welded to the seat frame. If such a vehicle was involved in a rear impact collision, there was an increased risk of injury to vehicle occupants. For affected vehicles, the seat frame assembly was to be replaced. 2018-19 model year Holden ZB Commodore Diesel: fuel leak and fire hazard
In January 2020, recall campaign A192290390 was issued for 2018-19 model year Holden ZB Commodore vehicles that had 2.0-litre diesel engines. In these vehicles, a clip on the fuel hose bundle could rub against the fuel pump return hose and this could cause a fuel leak. If diesel fuel fell onto the exhaust, it could ignite and cause a fire – this would pose a risk to vehicle occupants, bystanders and property.
