Recalls: Peugeot 2008

Overview

Manufacturers, or importers, issue recalls for defects or faults which have the potential to cause injury. Generally, manufacturers will inform the original buyers if their vehicle is subject to a recall and of the steps required to remedy the defect or fault. Please note that the recalls below (if any) are for Australian-delivered vehicles only. Furthermore, the number of recalls should not be taken as an indication of a model’s reliability or its safety more generally.

Recalls:

  • In June 2014, a recall was issued for Peugeot 2008 vehicles because mounting/fixing bolts for the front suspension wishbone may not be the correct specification. As a result, parts may break and pose an accident risk to vehicle occupants and other road users. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please seePRA 2014/14184.
  • In March 2016, a recall was issued for Peugeot 2008 vehicles because the travel of the parking brake lever may have been incorrectly set – this could lead to the parking brake being ineffective unless the customer pulled up the lever all the way. If not, there was a risk that the Peugeot 2008 may not remain stationary when parked and pose a risk of injury to persons or damage to property (PRA 2016/15248).
