Problems and faults: Smart A450 Cabrio
- The coil springs are susceptible to failure. If the rear springs fail, they can potentially rub against the tyres and cause a flat.
- The reluctor rings on the drive shafts are susceptible to corrosion and cracking, causing the ABS to activate.
- Knocking noises from the front of the vehicle may be due to excessive play in the steering rack.
- Exhaust manifolds are susceptible to cracking.
- Frequent oil changes are essential for long engine life.
