Overview
Released in March 2006, the Proton BT Savvy was a light, five-door hatchback. Manufactured in Malaysia, the front-wheel drive Savvy was powered by a 1.1-litre four-cylinder engine that was mated to either a five-speed manual or five-speed semi-automatic transmission. Sourced from Renault, the 1149 cc D4F petrol engine had double overhead camshafts, four valves per cylinder and a compression ratio of 10.0:1.
The Savvy was 3710 mm long, 1643 mm wide, 1480 mm tall and had a 2395 mm long wheelbase; kerb weight was approximately 950 kg. Furthermore, the Savvy had MacPherson strut front suspension and a torsion beam rear axle.
