Overview
Released in May 1995, the Volkswagen 1H Vento was a compact sedan. The VW 1H Vento was powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that was mated to either a four-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmission. The Vento range primarily consisted of GL variants, though limited-run Classic variants were offered in NSW in 1996.
Dimensions and suspension
The 1H Vento was based on the Volkswagen Mk.3 Golf platform but distinguished by its sedan body and styling. As such, the Vento was 4380 mm long, 1695 mm wide, 1405 mm tall and had a 2475 mm long wheelbase. The Vento had MacPherson strut front suspensions with lower wishbones and a torsion beam axle with trailing arms.
