Recalls: Jeep WL Grand Cherokee

Overview

Recalls are issued for defects or faults which have the potential to cause injury. Recalls: Jeep WL Grand Cherokee

In June 2023, recall campaign 58A was issued for 2021-23 Jeep WL Grand Cherokee vehicles. Due to a manufacturing issue, the steering column shaft could separate from the U-joint. This could result in a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a collision and injury to vehicle occupants and other road users. To fix, the immediate shaft and assembly parts were to be replaced. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-005696.

In June 2023, recall campaign 64A was issued for 2021-23 Jeep WL Grand Cherokee vehicles. Due to a manufacturing defect, incorrectly installed rear coil springs may detach whilst driving. This condition could cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a collision and injury to both vehicle occupants and other road users. For affected vehicles, teh rear coil springs were to be replaced. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-005708.

In July 2023, recall campaign Z50 was issued for 2021 Jeep WL Grand Cherokee vehicles. Due to a manufacturing defect, the rear tail lamps may not illuminate as intended. If this occurred during dark conditions, following traffic may have reduced visibility of the WL Grand Cherokee, thereby increasing the risk of a collision and injury to vehicle occupants and other road users. 2021-23 Jeep WL Grand Cherokee: upper control arm could detach

In April 2024, recall campaign 10B was issued for 2021-23 Jeep WL Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L vehicles. The upper control arm retaining bolts may have been damaged during vehicle assembly. This could cause the upper control arm to detach from the steering knuckle while driving, resulting in a loss of control. A loss of vehicle control increased the risk of a collision and injury to both vehicle occupants and other road users. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-005957.
