Released in July 2001, the Daihatsu M201 YRV was a light, five-door wagon. Manufactured in Japan, the front-wheel drive YRV (short for ‘Young Recreational Vehicle’) was powered by a 1.3-litre K3-VE petrol engine which had double overhead camshafts, four valves per cylinder, ‘dynamic variable valve timing’ (DVVT) and a compression ratio of 10.0:1.
