Released in May 2007, the HSV WM Series I (WM.I) Grange was a rear-wheel drive, long wheelbase sedan. Released in September 2009, the HSV WM Series II (WM.II) Grange introduced improved fuel economy and additional features. Specifically, the electronic stability control system gained a ‘Competition Mode’ and the ‘Extended Cruise Control’ system included a speed-limiting function for downhill driving.

Released in September 2010, the HSV WM Series III (WM.III) Grange introduced a more powerful engine, updated interior and revised styling. The WM.III Grange was fitted with the 6.2-litre V8 previously reserved for the GTS, resulting in a power increase of 8kW. The V8 engine was also available with a dual-fuel liquid propane injection (LPI) system which provided identical performance to the petrol-only V8. The LPI engine would start on petrol but switch to LPG for low and mid-range driving; from approximately 5300rpm depending on conditions the engine would revert to petrol for full power. The HSV WM.III Grange could be identified by its revised front mask with daytime LED running lights. Inside, the E.III Grange was fitted with a new ‘Oracle’ dashboard with binnacle gauges and piano black trim on the centre console and steering wheel; there was also an ‘Enhanced Driver Interface’ with a touch-screen display that could provide performance data.
