Released in November 2011, the Land Rover L538 Series I (L538.I) Range Rover Evoque was a three- or five-door compact SUV. Manufactured in Halewood, England, the L538.I Evoque was initially available with all-wheel drive and either a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine (the TD4 and SD4 variants) or a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine (the Si4). In July 2012, however, the Evoque range was expanded with front-wheel drive eD4 variants which were also powered by the 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine. Released in Australia in March 2014, the Land Rover L538 Series II (L538.II) Range Rover Evoque introduced mechanical upgrades – including a nine-speed ZF-9HP automatic transmission – and optional driver assistance technologies. The Land Rover L538.II Range Rover Evoque could be identified by its four new alloy wheel styles and new ‘Land Rover’ badges for the grille, wheel centres and tailgate.

Released in Australia in September 2015, the Land Rover L538 Series III (L538.III) Range Rover Evoque introduced a new 2.0-litre ‘Ingenium’ turbo-diesel engine for the eD4, TD4 150 and TD4 180 variants, while the SD4 was discontinued. The L538.III Range Rover Evoque could be identified by its new front bumper and grille designs, enlarged air intakes, slim line LED fog lights and new alloy wheel designs; adaptive LED headlights were also offered as an extra-cost option. Inside, the Range Rover Evoque featured new seats, door casings, an infotainment system with an eight-inch touchscreen, soft-touch materials, colours and a redesigned instrument binnacle.
