Released in November 2001, the Mercedes W163 Series II (W163.II) ML 55 AMG introduced additional safety equipment and cosmetic updates. The Mercedes W163.II ML 55 AMG could be identified by its bright silver radiator grille, polycarbonate clear lens headlights and aerodynamic door mirrors with integrated indicators. Inside, there was a new centre console, chrome-ringed controls for the climate control air conditioning system and black-finished burr walnut trim.
