Commencing production in September 2015, the Mercedes-AMG W176 Series II (W176.II) A 45 introduced a more powerful engine, electronically-controlled dampers (‘AMG Ride Control’) and enhanced safety equipment. The W176.II A 45 could be identified by its new A-wing design (which acted as an air feed to the AMG-specific cooling air inlets), LED headlights with ‘eyebrows’ as daytime driving lamps, new tail-lights and ‘TURBO 4MATIC’ lettering on the front wings. For greater downforce, the W176.II A 45 had a new spoiler lip under the front splitter, revised rear apron with a diffuser insert and AMG spoiler lip on the roof spoiler.
