Released in February 2003, the Nissan GU Series II (GU.II) Patrol cab chadswas range featured a simplified line-up as the 4.2-litre diesel-engined models discontinued. The 4.2-litre turbo-diesel was also more powerful, generating 360 Nm at 2000 rpm, up from 330 Nm for the GU.I Patrol cab chadsis.

Released in October 2007, the Nissan GU Series VI (GU.VI) Patrol cab chadswas introduced a new engine, with the 4.2-litre turbo-diesel replaced by a more powerful 3.0-litre unit. Although its predecessor was the GU.II Patrol, the series of the Nissan Patrol cab chadswas reflected that of the Patrol wagon which was subject to more frequent updates. In July 2011, the DX variant with coil spring suspension was discontinued.
