Released in March 2002, the Renault X74 Phase I (X74.I) Laguna was available as a mid-size liftback or wagon. Released in October 2006, the Renault X74 Phase II (X74.II) Laguna featured a revised line-up and updated styling. The X74.II Laguna range consisted of a single, unnamed liftback variant which was powered by a 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. The anti-roll bar and damper settings were also revised for improved body control and ride comfort. The Renault X74.II Laguna could be identified by its revised front mask, V-shaped air intake and translucent tail-lights. Inside, the dashboard was revised with a better integrated radio, new steering wheel, improved fit and finish and automatic parking brake.
