Released in September 2013, the Renault X98 Phase I (X98.I) Clio was a light, five-door hatchback. Production of the Renault X98 Phase II (X98.II) Clio commenced in August 2016 and it was officially released in Australia in May 2017. While the TCe 90 and TCe 120 variants continued, the X98.II Clio range consisted of Life, Zen, Intens and GT-Line editions/ Visually, the X98.II Clio could be identified by its re-designed lower grille, reshaped rear bumper and, for Zen, Intens and GT-Line editions, Renault’s ‘Pure Vision’ headlights. Inside, the X98.II Clio introduced higher quality seat fabrics and plastics, more restrained use of chrome to reduce glare, a new steering wheel and re-designed gear lever.
