Recalls: Daewoo Nubira

Overview

Manufacturers, or importers, issue recalls for defects or faults which have the potential to cause injury. Generally, manufacturers will inform the original buyers if their vehicle is subject to a recall and of the steps required to remedy the defect or fault. Please note that the recalls below (if any) are for Australian-delivered vehicles only. Furthermore, the number of recalls should not be taken as an indication of a model’s reliability or its safety more generally.

Recalls: Daewoo Nubira

  • In February 1998, a recall was issued for Daewoo Nubira vehicles manufactured from May 1997 to 26 September 1997. For these vehicles, the outer casing of the bushes fitted to the front lower control arms may split and partially dislodge from the arm, resulting in unstable steering (PRA 1998/3472).
  • In March 2001, a recall was issued for Daewoo Nubira models fitted with the 2.0-litre petrol engine. In these vehicles, the outlet pipe of the fuel filter may bend and the right angle joint of the fuel feed tube may split – both these occurrences could result in leaking fuel and the possibility of fire (PRA 2001/4692).
  • In February 2003, a recall was issued for Daewoo Nubira vehicles supplied in Australia from 1997 to November 2002. For these vehicles, the vehicle jacks had warning labels which do not comply with the vehicle jack safety standard AS/NZ 2693:1993 – Vehicle Jacks (PRA 2003/5957).
  •  In April 2003, a recall was issued for Daewoo Nubira vehicles due to a condition in which a crack could occur in the protective sheath of the flexible front brake hoses (PRA 2003/6102).
