Recalls: Daewoo V100 Leganza
Overview
Manufacturers, or importers, issue recalls for defects or faults which have the potential to cause injury. Generally, manufacturers will inform the original buyers if their vehicle is subject to a recall and of the steps required to remedy the defect or fault. Please note that the recalls below (if any) are for Australian-delivered vehicles only. Furthermore, the number of recalls should not be taken as an indication of a model’s reliability or its safety more generally.
Recalls: Daewoo V100 Leganza
- In May 1999, a recall was issued for Daewoo V100 Leganza vehicles manufactured prior to 16 March 1999 and in the VIN range KLAV_69ZEWB000000 to KLAV_692EXB181193. For these vehicles, the wiring harness close to the top of the accelerator pedal may interfere with the travel of the pedal and hold the accelerator open (PRA 1999/3946).
- In February 2003, a recall was issued for Daewoo V100 Leganza vehicles supplied in Australia from 1997 to November 2002. For these vehicles, the vehicle jacks had warning labels which do not comply with the vehicle jack safety standard AS/NZ 2693:1993 – Vehicle Jacks (PRA 2003/5957).
- In November 2005, a recall was issued for Daewoo V100 Leganza vehicles manufactured from September 1998 to June 2002. In these vehicles, the engine camshaft sensor may malfunction and melt, generating an odour and visible smoke. Subsequently, the camshaft cover and wiring harness may also melt (PRA 2005/8163).

Problems and faults: Daewoo V100 Leganza
- Incorrect fuel gauge readings may be due to a defective resistor card in the fuel sender.
- The gearshift may vibrate at higher engine RPMs – this may be fixed with a counterweight.
