Problems and faults: Ferrari 456

  • Ferrari recommends that the shock absorbers be replaced every six years. A more cost-effective alternative, however, is to have them reconditioned by a suspension specialist.
  • Maintenance costs: the Ferrari 456 requires a minor service every 10,000 kms or annually (whichever occurs first), and a full cambelt change every three years or 40,000 kms.
  • The windows have a tendency to wear the regulator mechanism, creating a gap between the glass and B-pillar.
  • Centre console plastics are susceptible to bubbling due to the heat of bulbs beneath them.
  • The engine is susceptible to oil leaks.
