2018 Hyundai PD i30 N with sunroof: no automatic safety stop function

In April 2019, recall campaign 81C095 was issued for Hyundai PD i30 N vehicles that were available for sale in Australia from 18 July 2018 to 1 October 2018. Certain batches of sunroof motors had incorrect software installed and may not have an automatic safety stop function. As such, the sunroof would not automatically stop closing if it was obstructed and this could cause injury if a body part was caught between the glass and the sunroof’s window frame. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see PRA 2019/17512.

2021-22 Hyundai PD i30N: fail-safe mode could cause loss of power

In January 2023, recall campaign 21DC10 was issued for 2021-22 Hyundai PD i30N vehicles. Due to a programming issue, the ‘fail-safe’ driving mode may not respond as intended when certain transmission faults were detected. Specifically, the fail-safe mode may activate and result in reduced acceleration, followed by a loss of motive power. If this loss of motive power occurred while driving at speed, it could increase the risk of a collision and injury for vehicle occupants and other road users. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-005606.
