In November 2018, recall campaign 81C074 was issued for Hyundai TM Santa Fe vehicles that were available for sale in Australia from 1 June 2018 to 14 August 2018. In the event of airbag deployment, protrusion of the curtain airbag mounting bolt may interfere with airbag fabric and this could cause damage to the rear side or curtain airbag cushion. The airbag may therefore not provide optimum protection and this would increase the risk of injury to the rear occupant. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see PRA 2018/17136.

The fuel supply pipe attached to the engines of these vehicles could be defective and this may result in a fuel leak. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-001662.

2021 Hyundai TM Santa Fe 2.2DSL: inverted LCD instrument cluster image

In March 2022, recall campaign 11D231 was issued for 2021 Hyundai TM Santa Fe 2.2DSL vehicles. When operating at extremely low ambient temperatures, the LCD instrument cluster screen may show an inverted image as a result of voltage fluctuations due to a discrepancy with internal resistors. If the LCD instrument cluster did not display as intended, it could increase the risk of a collision. To fix, the instrument cluster was to be replaced and programmed with updated software. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-005075.

2021 Hyundai TM Santa Fe: seat belt pre-tensioner inflator may fracture

In July 2022, recall campaign 21D024 was issued for Hyundai TM Santa Fe vehicles. Due to a manufacturing issue, the seat belt pre-tensioner inflator may fracture when deployed after a collision. If this occurred, metal fragments may be propoelled at high speed towards vehicle occupants – these posed a risk of serious injury. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-005457.

2020-22 Hyundai TM Santa Fe: fail-safe mode could cause loss of power

In January 2023, recall campaign 21D155 was issued for 2020-22 Hyundai TM Santa Fe vehicles. Due to a programming issue, the ‘fail-safe’ driving mode may not respond as intended when certain transmission faults were detected. If this loss of motive power occurred while driving at speed, it could increase the risk of a collision and injury for vehicle occupants and other road users. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-005607.
