Recalls: Kia DC Rio

Overview

Manufacturers, or importers, issue recalls for defects or faults which have the potential to cause injury. Generally, manufacturers will inform the original buyers if their vehicle is subject to a recall and of the steps required to remedy the defect or fault. Please note that the recalls below (if any) are for Australian-delivered vehicles only. Furthermore, the number of recalls should not be taken as an indication of a model’s reliability or its safety more generally.

Recalls: Kia DC Rio

  • In August 2004, a recall was issued for Kia DC Rio models produced from 26 May 2000 to 26 March 2004 for potential failure of the fuel distribution rail, which could cause a fuel leak and, in turn, a fire in the engine compartment. As a result, the recall necessitated the replacement of the fuel distribution rail and connecting fuel hose on vehicles recalled by the recall (PRA 2004/7157).
  • In July 2005, a recall was issued for some Kia DC Rio models fitted with 13-inch steel wheels which had the potential to develop fatigue cracking during long term driving (PRA 2005/7888).
