Recalls: Lexus CT 200h

2010-12 Lexus CT 200h: curtain shield airbag inflators

In June 2016, a recall was issued for Lexus CT 200h vehicles that were manufactured from 1 September 2010 to 27 April 2012. In these vehicles, the curtain shield airbag inflators located in the driver and passenger side roof rails were composed of two chambers that were welded together. Some of these inflators could have a small crack in the weld area which joined the chambers. Over time, this crack could grow and lead to the separation of the inflator chambers. If this occurred, one or both sections of the inflator could enter the interior of the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury to vehicle occupants. The recalled Lexus CT 200h vehicles had VINs in the range JTH KD5BH # 020000137 to JTH KD5BH # 02103784 (PRA 2016/15481).

2010-15 Lexus CT 200h: fuel suction plate

In July 2016, a recall as issued for Lexus CT 200h vehicles that were manufactured from 1 September 2010 to 4 February 2015. In these vehicles, the fuel suction plate that was located within the fuel tank may develop a crack which could expand over time. As a result, fuel may leak when the vehicle had a full tank of fuel; in the presence of an ignition source, the fuel or fuel vapour posed a fire hazard. The recalled Lexus CT 200h vehicles had VINs in the range JTH KD5BH # 02000137 to JTH KD5BH # 02233259 (PRA 2016/15490).

2016-17 Lexus CT 200h: potential fuel leak from resin weld

In December 2017, a recall was issued for Lexus CT 200h vehicles that were manufactured from 22 November 2016 to 6 February 2017. In these vehicles, the resin weld between the fuel tank and the fuel inlet pipe may not have been to specification. As a result, a portion of the resin weld between the fuel tank and the fuel inlet pipe could peel off, causing fuel leakage and a fuel odour. In the presence of an ignition source, the fuel could ignite and pose a fire hazard. For the VINs of the recalled Lexus CT 200h vehicles, please see PRA 2017/16484.

2019 Lexus CT 200h: gas struts for rear hatch could leak and fail

In November 2019, recall campaign UGG44 was issued for Lexus CT 200h vehicles that were manufactured from 13 February 2019 to 22 February 2019. In these vehicles, the gas struts which held the back door open may have been manufactured improperly and this could allow the gas charge to leak. If a sufficient amount of gas leaked while the back door was open, the gas struts could fail and pose a risk of injury. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see PRA 2019/17914.
