Recalls: MINI F60 Countryman
Overview
Manufacturers, or importers, issue recalls for defects or faults which have the potential to cause injury. Generally, manufacturers will inform the original buyers if their vehicle is subject to a recall and of the steps required to remedy the defect or fault. Please note that the recalls below (if any) are for Australian-delivered vehicles only. Recalls: MINI F60 Countryman
2016-18 MINI F60 Countryman: protection plate for high pressure fuel pump omitted
In September 2018, recall campaign 00 13 9002 00 was issued for MINI F60 Countryman vehicles that were available for sale in Australia from 30 December 2016 to 13 August 2018. Due to an error in the releasing process in an engine production plant, a crash protection plate for the high pressure fuel pump was not installed in three-cylinder B36/B38 petrol engines. In a severe front collision, the fuel pump could become damaged – this could cause a fuel leak and posed a fire hazard. 2020 MINI F60 Countryman: battery fire hazard
In January 2021, recall campaigns 0061650500 and 0061670500 were issued for MINI F60 Countryman vehicles that were available for sale in Australia from 29 January 2020 to 18 September 2020. In these vehicles, foreign bodies or particles may have entered the battery cells and could cause a short circuit in a fully charged high-voltage battery. A short circuit could cause a fire, increasing the risk of a collision and injury to vehicle occupants and other road users. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see PRA 2020/18591.
