Nissan J11 Qashqai: loss of braking assistance

In November 2017, a recall was issued for Nissan J11 Qashqai vehicles. Due to insufficient rigidity, the lower edge of the right rear wheel arch protector could deform. If this occurred at conditions such as high vehicle speed or loading, the right rear wheel arch protector could contact the brake hose. Over time, repeated contact could wear through the outer protective cover of the brake hose, damage the inner reinforcing braiding and, in extreme cases, wear a hole in the hose. If this occurred, brake fluid could leak from one of the two hydraulic circuits, increasing brake pedal travel and causing the brake malfunction indicator lamp to illuminate. For the VINs of the recalled Nissan J11 Qashqai vehicles, please see PRA 2017/16421.

2017-18 Nissan J11 Qashqai: lack of warning for indicator lamp failure

In April 2018, a recall was issued for Nissan J11 Qashqai vehicles that were manufactured from September 2017 to January 2018. Due to an incorrect setting in the software of the Body Control Module (BCM), the system may not trigger a warning (normally indicated by double speed flashing) in the event of an indicator lamp failure. For the VINs of the recalled Nissan J11 Qashqai vehicles, please see PRA 2018/16734.
