Recalls: Peugeot N5 306 Cabriolet

Overview

Manufacturers, or importers, issue recalls for defects or faults which have the potential to cause injury. Generally, manufacturers will inform the original buyers if their vehicle is subject to a recall and of the steps required to remedy the defect or fault. Recalls: Peugeot N5 306 Cabriolet

  • In May 1998, a recall was issued for certain 1997 and 1998 model year 306 Cabriolet vehicles with 2.0-litre petrol engines. For these vehicles, fuel could leak and potentially catch fire if exposed to certain elements (PRA 1998/5344).
  • In November 1998, a recall was issued for Peugeot 306 vehicles that were manufactured from December 1997 to June 1998. In these vehicles, the lower ball joint swivel pin may not have been tightened to the correct torque specification – this could lead to ball joint failure (PRA 1998/3709).
  • In August 1999, a recall was issued for Peugeot 306 vehicles that were sold between 23 June 1997 and 19 November 1998 due the supply of a spare wheel of incorrect specification (PRA 1999/4063).
  • In December 2000, a recall was issued for 1999 and 2000 model year Peugeot N5 306 Cabriolet vehicles due to the power brake vacuum pump drive pin becoming defective under extreme and continuous braking operation – this could result in a loss of vehicle braking (PRA 2000/4583). This recall was re-issued in May 2001 for 2000 model year vehicles (PRA 2001/4626).
  • In July 2001, a recall was issued for Peugeot 306 Cabriolet vehicles due to a wiring harness fault under the front seats causing the front seatbelt pretensioners to deactivate (PRA 2001/4826).
  • In September 2001, a recall was issued for 2001 model year Peugeot N5 306 Cabriolet vehicles as a heat shield which was omitted during the manufacturing process could cause damage to the rear brake hose – this could result in brake failure (PRA 2001/4946).
