Recalls: Peugeot T9 3008
Overview
Manufacturers, or importers, issue recalls for defects or faults which have the potential to cause injury. Generally, manufacturers will inform the original buyers if their vehicle is subject to a recall and of the steps required to remedy the defect or fault. Please note that the recalls below (if any) are for Australian-delivered vehicles only. Furthermore, the number of recalls should not be taken as an indication of a model’s reliability or its safety more generally.
Recalls: Peugeot T9 3008
2016-17 Peugeot T9 3008: potential fuel leak
In December 2017, a recall was issued for Peugeot T9 3008 vehicles that were available for sale from 1 December 2016 to 31 July 2017. In these vehicles, friction between the fuel pipe and shield could result in a fuel leak. In the presence of an ignition source, the fuel could ignite and pose a fire hazard. For the VINs of the recalled Peugeot 3008 vehicles, please see PRA 2017/16489.
2017-18 Peugeot P84 3008 Diesel: engine may overheat
In August 2018, a recall was issued for Peugeot P84 3008 vehicles that had diesel engines and were available for sale in Australia from 1 September 2017 to 1 May 2018. In these vehicles, the cooling strategy and maximum temperature alert could cause the engine to overheat. If the engine overheated and the engine seized while the vehicle was being driven, the vehicle could stop suddenly such that it would pose a collision risk for vehicle occupants and other road users. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see PRA 2018/16948.
2018-19 Peugeot T9 3008: top tether anchorage point on front passenger seat
In October 2019, recall campaign JPA was issued for Peugeot 3008 vehicles that were available for sale in Australia from 1 September 2018 to 30 September 2019. In these vehicles, a top tether anchorage point was incorrectly on the front passenger seat. If a child seat was installed into the front passenger seat without the airbag system being deactivated, there was a risk of serious injury to the child. To fix, the top tether anchorage point was to be removed. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see PRA 2019/17835.
2021-22 Peugeot 3008 GTS Plug-In Hybrid AWD: battery could overheat or emit smoke
In May 2023, recall campaign MEGMEHMEJ was issued for 2021-22 Peugeot 3008 GTS Plug-In Hybrid AWD vehicles. Due to a software program error, the Battery Management System software may cause the high voltage battery to overheat and/or emit smoke. If not unrepaired, this could result in a battery or vehicle fire whilst the vehicle was being recharged and/or in use. A vehicle fire increased the risk of injury to vehicle occupants, other road users or bystanders. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-005670.
2021-22 Peugeot 3008 GTS Plug-In Hybrid AWD: protective wax omitted from battery reinforcing plate and/or cover
In May 2023, recall campaign MA5 was issued for 2021-22 Peugeot 3008 GTS Plug-In Hybrid AWD vehicles. Due to a manufacturing issue, certain plug-in hybrid electric vehicles may not have had the high voltage battery reinforcing plate or battery cover coated with a protective wax. If water intruded, there was a risk of perforation or corrosion of the battery reinforcing plate/battery cover over the life of the vehicle. If not repaired, there was a risk that the perforation or corrosion could weaken either the battery reinforcing plate or battery cover, affecting the high voltage battery’s security. This could result in breakdown of the vehicle and/or potential for a battery or vehicle fire, posing a risk of injury to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-005671.
2018-22 Peugeot T9 3008: diesel particulate filter may crack
In November 2023, recall campaign KWM was issued for 2018-22 Peugeot T9 3008 vehicles. In these vehicles, the diesel particulate filter (DPF) may overheat and crack. If this occurred, the DPF may not operate as intended, resulting in increased tailpipe emissions. If this occurred, the driving performance of the vehicle would not be affected, but the vehicle would not be compliant with Australian Design Rule ADR 79/04 (Emission Control for Light Vehicles). For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-005815.
2018-19 Peugeot T9 3008 GT: diesel particulate filter may crack
In November 2023, recall campaign KWL was issued for 2018-19 Peugeot T9 3008 GT vehicles. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-005816.
