Recalls: Renault X83 Trafic

Overview

Renault X83 Trafic: front seatbelt pretensioner may not activate

In August 2007, a recall was issued for Renault X83 Trafic vehicles to correct the configuration of the airbag computer which prevented the front passenger seatbelt pretensioner from being activated (PRA 2007/9477). Vehicles affected by the recall were in the following VIN ranges:

  • VF1FLBHA67Y192827 to VF1FLBHA67Y195950; and,
  • VF1FLBHB67Y190022 to VF1FLBHB67Y193436.

2012-13 Renault X83 Trafic: steering wheel hub could break

In March 2020, recall campaign 0C7H was issued for Renault X83 Trafic vehicles that were available for sale in Australia from 24 September 2012 to 15 December 2013. When excessive load was applied to the steering wheel, the steering wheel hub could crack or break; the driver may also experience steering wheel vibration and noise. If this occurred, the driver may lose control of the vehicle and this posed a collision risk. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see PRA 2020/18226.
