Recalls: Suzuki HT Ignis

Overview

Manufacturers, or importers, issue recalls for defects or faults which have the potential to cause injury. Generally, manufacturers will inform the original buyers if their vehicle is subject to a recall and of the steps required to remedy the defect or fault. Please note that the recalls below (if any) are for Australian-delivered vehicles only. Furthermore, the number of recalls should not be taken as an indication of a model’s reliability or its safety more generally.

Recalls: Suzuki HT Ignis

  • In August 2005, a recall was issued for Suzuki HT Ignis Sport variants due to the left front driveshaft potentially detaching from the transmission during certain high speed driving conditions; this would result in a loss of driving force to the wheels (PRA 2005/7975).
  • In December 2006, a recall was issued for Suzuki HT Ignis models manufactured from March 2003 to October 2004. For these vehicles, improper folding of the front passenger airbag may have created a gap between the internal folded airbag and bag holder (PRA 2006/8952).
  • In April 2015, a recall was issued for Suzuki Ignis vehicles because contact grease used for lubrication within the vehicle ignition switch may carbonise with frequent usage; carbonisation of the grease may produce smoke from the ignition switch and pose a potential fire hazard (PRA 2015/14661).
