Recalls: Toyota XV10 Camry

Overview

Manufacturers, or importers, issue recalls for defects or faults which have the potential to cause injury. Generally, manufacturers will inform the original buyers if their vehicle is subject to a recall and of the steps required to remedy the defect or fault. Please note that the recalls below (if any) are for Australian-delivered vehicles only. Recalls: Toyota XV10 Camry

  • In September 1994, a recall was issued for Toyota Camry vehicles that were manufactured between November 1993 and June 1994. In these vehicles, the steering wheel retaining nut may loosen and cause the steering wheel to become loose, potentially causing steering failure (PRA 1994/2251).
  • In July 1995, a recall was issued for Toyota Camry vehicles that were manufactured between 26/5/1995 and 16/6/1995. In these vehicles, one side of the seat track locking mechanism for the front seats may only partially engage or not engage at all (PRA 1995/2525).
  • In March 1996, a recall was issued for Toyota XV10 Camry vehicles because the dimmer switch contact points and contact arms may become overheated and cause erratic operation of the headlights (PRA 1996/2757).
