2018-19 Volkswagen Caddy: side airbags may not deploy properly

In April 2019, recall campaign 74D6 was issued for Volkswagen Caddy vehicles that were supplied between 1 September 2018 and 26 April 2019. In these vehicles, the front backrest padding may have been fitted incorrectly such that, in the event of a collision, the side airbags may not deploy adequately – this increased the risk of injury to the occupants. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see PRA 2019/17500.

2021-22 Volkswagen Mk.4 Caddy Life: potential loss of steering control

In December 2022, recall campaign 40S5 was issued for 2021-22 Volkswagen Mk.4 Caddy Life vehicles. Due to a manufacturing defect, the transverse link bushes fitted to the front axle may have been incorrectly welded. As such, the transverse link could fracture, causing the front wheels to move independently of the steering wheel. This condition could cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a collision and injury to vehicle occupants and other road users. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-005575.
