Volkswagen T6 Caravelle: folded passenger airbag

In May 2016, a recall was issued for Volkswagen T6 Caravelle vehicles because the front left side airbag may not deploy correctly in the event of a collision because of an incorrectly folded airbag. The effectiveness of the front left side airbag may be reduced, increasing the risk of injury to the occupants of the front passenger seat (PRA 2016/15411).

2017-18 model year Volkswagen T6 Caravelle: short circuit for power sliding doors

In August 2019, recall campaign 58D7 was issued for 2017-18 model year Volkswagen T6 Caravelle vehicles that had short wheelbases, a power-operated rear lid and power sliding doors. For these vehicles, water may enter the vehicle’s interior and enter the control unit for the power sliding doors – this could cause a short-circuit with local heat damage. If air was supplied through open windows, doors or the sliding roof a fire could occur. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see PRA 2019/17750.
