Review: Daewoo 1.5i (1994-95)
Overview
Released in August 1994, the Daewoo 1.5i was available as a three- or five-door hatchback or as a four-door sedan. Manufactured in Bupyeong, South Korea, the front-wheel drive 1.5i was powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that was mated to either a three-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmission.
The three- and five-door hatchbacks were 4040 mm long, 1668 mm wide, 1385 mm tall and had 2520 mm long wheelbases; the sedans, however, were 222 mm longer (at 4262 mm), though the other dimensions were unchanged. Furthermore, the 1.5i had MacPherson strut front suspension and compound torsion beam rear suspension.
In October 1995, the 1.5i was rebadged and marketed as the Daewoo Cielo .

Features
Standard features were limited to a four speaker sound system with a radio and cassette player, though power-assisted steering was also standard.
