Review: Daewoo V100.I Leganza (1997-99)
Overview
Released in August 1997, the Daewoo V100 Series I (V100.I) Leganza was a small, front-wheel drive sedan. Manufactured in Bupyeong, South Korea, the Leganza was powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine mated to either a four-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmission. The 2.0-litre ‘Family II’ petrol engine was manufactured by GM Holden and had double overhead camshafts, four valves per cylinder and a compression ratio of 9.6:1.
Styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro of Italdesign, the Leganza was 4671 mm long, 1779 mm wide, 1437 mm tall and had a 2670 mm long wheelbase. Furthermore, the Leganza had MacPherson strut front suspension and independent, dual-link rear suspension.

Features

Review: Daewoo V100.II Leganza (1999-02)
Overview
Released in April 1999, the V100 Series II (V100.II) Leganza was powered by GM Holden’s 2.2-litre ‘Family II’ petrol engine which was offered with a new electronically-controlled four-speed Aisin Warner automatic transmission. Other changes for the V100.II Leganza included additional safety equipment, firmer rear suspension and the omission of the SX variant name.

Safety equipment for the V100.II Leganza was improved with the introduction of a driver’s airbag.
ANCAP crash testing
In ANCAP crash testing , the V100.II Leganza received a two star adult occupant protection rating with a score of 12.1. In the frontal offset crash test, the passenger compartment was substantially deformed and the driver’s contact with the airbag was unstable. Furthermore, the front passenger struck the dashboard – with a moderate risk of life-threatening head injury – and protection from serious leg injury was poor for the driver. In the side impact test, there was a high risk of life-threatening chest injury.
Features
Compared to its V100.I predecessor, the V100.II Leganza were extended to include 15-inch ROH alloy wheels with 205/60 VR15 Bridgestone Turanza tyres and an alarm.
