Review: Ford LT Focus Coupe Cabriolet (2007-09)
Overview
Released in November 2007, the Ford LT Focus Coupe Cabriolet was a two-door convertible with a two-piece retractable metal roof. The front-wheel drive Focus Coupe Cabriolet was powered by Ford’s 2.0-litre ‘Duratec HE’ four-cylinder petrol engine which had double overhead camshafts, four valves per cylinder and a compression ratio of 10.8:1. Transmission choices consisted of a four-speed automatic or five-speed manual.
The Mk.2 Focus Coupe Cabriolet was designed in partnership with Pininfarina and manufactured in South Africa. Compared to the Mk.2 Focus sedan on which it was based, the Focus Coupe Cabriolet was 21 mm longer (at 4509 mm), 6 mm narrower (1834 mm) and 13 mm taller (1456 mm), though its wheelbase length was unchanged (2640 mm). The Focus Coupe Cabriolet had MacPherson strut front suspension and Ford’s ‘Control Blade’ multi-link rear suspension.
With roof closed, the Focus Coupe Cabriolet had 534 litres of cargo capacity, though this decreased to 248 litres when the roof was closed. Inside, the Focus Coupe-Cabriolet had four seats and the power-operated folding hardtop roof could open or close in 29 seconds.
