Overview

Released in July 2008, the Holden RC Colorado was essentially a face-lifted version of its RA Rodeo predecessor, with Holden losing the right to use the Rodeo name following the separation of Isuzu and General Motors. As such, the RC Colorado was still manufactured in Thailand by Isuzu.

The RC Colorado cab chassis was initially available in Single, Space and Crew cab bodies and with a choice of three engines: a 2.4-litre four-cylinder petrol, 3.0-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel or a 3.6-litre petrol V6. There was also a choice of rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive models, the latter fitted with a strengthened drive-line and two-speed transfer case with low and high-range gearing which could be engaged via a dashboard button.

From December 2010, Colorado was available with a dual-fuel LPG/petrol V6 engine for the single cab, rear-wheel drive LX variant. The dual-fuel engine utilised sequential vapour gas injection technology to inject gas directly into the engine’s intake manifold, with LPG stored in a 56-litre cylindrical tank located between the chassis rails; the petrol tank, however, was unchanged.
