Overview

Released in Australia in July 2013, the Mahindra Genio cab chassis was available with a single or dual cab. The Genio was powered by a 2.2-litre ‘mHawk’ four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine which was mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

The Genio was 5185 mm long, 1850 mm wide, 1890 mm tall and had a 3200 mm long wheelbase; additional specifications are given in the table below. Furthermore, the Genio had independent, double wishbone front suspension with coil springs and a live rear axle with leaf-springs.

Standard safety equipment for the Mahindra Genio included dual front airbags and ABS.

Features

Standard features for the Mahindra Genio included 15-inch steel wheels with 215/70 R15 tyres, a 2-DIN audio system with a CD player, MP3-compatibility and auxiliary inputs (USB/SD card), air conditioning, cloth seats, cruise control, front fog lights, steering wheel audio controls, central locking, power windows and mirrors, a tilt adjustable steering wheel and an immobiliser.

Genio dual cab models were also fitted with front seat armrests, front seatback trays, remote central locking, and Mahindra’s ‘Digital Drive Assist System’, a trip computer which displayed current speed, temperature, humidity and fuel consumption.
