Review: Proton CC.I Satria (1997-99)
Overview
Released in February 1997, the Proton CC Series I (CC.I) Satria was a light, three-door hatchback. Manufactured in Malaysia, the front-wheel drive CC.I Satria was available with either a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine (the GL and GLi variants) or a 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine (the XLi).
Based on the fourth generation Mitsubishi Mirage (produced from 1991-95), the CC Satria was 3990 mm long, 1690 mm wide, 1360 mm tall and had a 2440 mm long wheelbase. Furthermore, the CC Satria had MacPherson strut front suspension and independent rear suspension with trailing arms and upper and lower lateral links.

Features
Standard features for the Satria GL included a four speaker sound system with radio and cassette player and a tilt adjustable steering wheel.
The Satria GLi was further equipped with a CD player, central locking, power windows and power steering. Beyond this, the XLi added 14-inch alloy wheels, power mirrors and a rear spoiler.
Review: Proton CC.II Satria (1999-00)
Overview
Released in August 1999, the CC Series II (CC.II) Satria introduced improved equipment levels and new engines. The line-up was also revised: the entry-level GL was fitted with a 1.3-litre four-cylinder engine, the 1.5-litre GLi was discontinued and the 1.8-litre GTi was introduced.

In a first for the CC Satria range, the Satria GTi was fitted with a driver’s airbag and ABS.
Features
Standard features for the CC.II Satria were extended to include 14-inch steel wheels (previously 13-inch), air conditioning, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with tilt adjustment and an engine immobiliser; the XLi added remote central locking, a 50/50 split and folding rear seat, second row headrests and power windows.
The range-topping Satria GTi was further equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels, sports suspension, a six speaker sound system with CD player, contoured sports seats, power mirrors and body kit.
2000 Satria XLi Son of a Gun edition
In January 2000, a limited-run XLi ‘Son of a Gun’ edition was released; compared to the standard XLi, the Son of a Gun edition added 14-inch alloy wheels, contoured sports seats, a sports steering wheel and body kit.
Review: Proton CC.III Satria (2000-05)
Overview
Released in November 2000, the CC Series III (CC.III) Satria featured an expanded line-up and minor equipment changes. The 1.6-litre engine was discontinued, replaced by a 1.5-litre unit in the XLi and newly-released XLS. In 2002, the range was further expanded with the return of the GLi variant.
