Released in Australia in November 2010, the C216 Series II (C216.II) CL 63 AMG was powered by Mercedes-Benz’s 5.5-litre M157 twin-turbo V8 engine, while the CL 65 AMG engine was revised and fitted with new turbochargers. There Mercedes C216.II CL 63 AMG and CL 65 AMG could be identified by their ‘swept-back’ front masks with profiled bonnets, enlarged radiator grilles, larger air intakes and new tail-lights. Other developments included Mercedes-Benz’s ‘Direct-Steer’ variable ratio steering, a cross-wind stabilisation for the Active Body Control suspension and a ‘Torque Vectoring Brake’ function.
