Overview
Released in December 2007, the Chrysler JS Sebring Cabrio was a two-door, four-seat convertible. Manufactured in Michigan, USA, the front-wheel drive Sebring Cabrio was powered by a 2.7-litre V6 petrol engine that was mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The JS Sebring Cabrio was also available in two editions: Touring and Limited; the Touring had a power-operated soft-top roof, while the Limited had a retractable hard-top.
The 2.7-litre V6 petrol engine had an aluminium block, cast-iron cylinder liners, aluminium double overhead camshaft cylinder heads, four valves per cylinder and a compression ratio of 9.9:1.
Compared to the JS Sebring sedan on which it was based, the JS Sebring Cabrio was 80 mm longer (at 4930 mm) and 3 mm taller (1500 mm), though width (1843 mm) and wheelbase length (2765 mm) were unchanged. The JS Sebring Cabrio had MacPherson strut front suspension and independent, multi-link rear suspension (both with coil springs, hydraulic shock absorbers and anti-roll bars).

Safety equipment
Safety equipment included dual front airbags, front seat-mounted side airbags with head protection, ABS, electronic brake force distribution, electronic stability control, traction control and front seatbelts with load limiters and pretensioners. From 2010, safety equipment was extended to include active front seat head restraints.
Features
Standard features for the Touring edition included 17-inch alloy wheels with 215/60 R17 tyres, a six speaker sound system with a CD player and MP3-compatibility, climate control air conditioning, a six-way power adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control, front fog lights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift lever, remote central locking, power windows and heated door mirrors (with a folding function), a tilt and reach adjustable steering wheel, tyre pressure monitoring, tinted windows, a 12 volt power outlet, trip computer, an alarm and immobiliser.
Beyond this, the Limited edition added 18-inch alloy wheels with 215/55 R18 tyres, a 276 watt Boston Acoustics sound system, 20 GB hard-disk multimedia unit with touch-screen and DVD player, two-tone leather seats, heated front seats and temperature-controlled cup holders.
