Overview
Released in October 2013, the Proton FZ Exora was a seven-seat people mover. Manufactured in Selangor, Malaysia, the front-wheel drive Exora was powered by a 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that was mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with six pre-set ratios.
CamPro CFE engine
The 1.6-litre CamPro CFE engine had a low-pressure intercooled turbocharger (with maximum boost pressure of 0.75 bar or 10.9 psi), double overhead camshafts, four valves per cylinder, variable intake valve timing and a compression ratio of 8.9:1.
Dimensions and suspension
Underpinned by Proton’s P2 platform, the Exora was 4592 mm long, 1809 mm wide, 1691 mm tall and had a 2730 mm long wheelbase; kerb weight for the GX variant was 1475 kg. Inside, the Exora had three rows of seats in a 2-3-2 configuration; the second row of seats had a 60:40 split, while the third row had a 50:50 split.
The Exora had MacPherson strut front suspension and a torsion beam rear axle.

Safety equipment
Standard safety equipment for the Exora included dual front airbags, front side airbags, full-length curtain airbags, ABS, electronic brake force distribution, brake assist, electronic stability control, traction control, active front seat head restraints and front seatbelts with pretensioners and load limiters.
ANCAP crash testing
In ANCAP crash testing , the Exora received a four star adult occupant protection rating with a score of 26.37 out of 37. In the offset crash test, chest protection for the driver was rated as adequate and leg protection as marginal. In the side impact test, chest protection for the driver was rated as adequate.
Features
Standard features for the Exora GX included 16-inch alloy wheels with 205/55 R16 tyres, a six speaker sound system with a CD player, MP3-compatibility, Bluetooth connectivity and auxiliary inputs (USB/iPod/SD card), air conditioning, rear fog light, rear parking sensors, remote central locking, power windows and mirrors, a tilt adjustable steering column, height adjustable driver’s seat, roof-mounted DVD player with SD card and USB ports, 12 volt power outlet, an alarm and immobiliser.
The Exora GXR was further equipped with leather seats, cruise control, daytime running lights, a reversing camera and power folding door mirrors. Visually, the Exora GXR could be identified by its chrome exterior finishes and rear spoiler.
