Overview
Released in April 2011, the L43 Latitude was a large, front-wheel drive sedan. Manufactured at the Renault-Samsung plant in Busan, South Korea, the L43 Latitude was initially available with either a 2.5-litre V6 petrol engine (the ‘2.5 V6’ variants) or a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel (‘2.0 dCi’). The 2.5 V6, however, was replaced by the 3.5 V6 for 2013. All variants, however, were fitted with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The L43 Latitude range initially consisted of standard and Luxe editions; in October 2013, however, these were replaced by the Dynamique and Privilege, respectively (see ‘October 2013 update’, below).
Effectively replacing the X91 Laguna , the L43 Latitude was 202 mm longer (at 4897 mm), 21 mm wider (1832 mm), 28 mm taller (1483 mm) and had a 6 mm longer wheelbase (2762 mm). The L43 Latitude had MacPherson strut front suspension (with a rectangular lower arm and anti-roll bar) and multi-link rear suspension.

Safety equipment
Standard safety equipment for the Renault L43 Latitude included dual front airbags, front side airbags, full-length curtain airbags, ABS, electronic brake force distribution, brake assist, electronic stability control, traction control and front seatbelts with pretensioners and load limiters.
Features
Standard features for the Renault Latitude included 17-inch ‘Sport Libretto’ alloy wheels, an eight speaker ‘3D Sound by Arkamys’ sound system with MP3-compatibility, auxiliary/USB inputs and Bluetooth audio streaming, dual-zone climate control air conditioning, a cooled glovebox, satellite navigation, black leather seats, an eight-way power adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift, Bluetooth mobile phone connectivity, 60/40 split and folding rear seats, remote central locking with Renault card, power windows and mirrors, power retracting and heated mirrors, a height and reach adjustable steering wheel, an automatic park brake, rear blinds and an immobiliser.
The Renault Latitude Luxe was further equipped with 18-inch ‘Symphonie’ alloy wheels, a nine speaker Bose sound system, three-zone climate control air conditioning (with toxicity sensor, carbon filter and Samsung ionizer), a six-way power adjustable front passenger seat, driver’s seat massage and memory functions, a reversing camera, automatically dipping driver’s side mirror on reverse, panoramic glass sunroof, tyre pressure monitoring and an electrochromatic rear view mirror.
October 2013: Latitude update
In October 2013, the Renault Latitude range was revised with the standard and Luxe editions replaced by Dynamique and Privilege editions, respectively. Standard features were revised as the rear blinds were omitted from the Dynamique (reserved for the Privilege), while the Privilege gained a blind spot warning (BSW) system.
