Overview

Released in December 2001, the Toyota T250 Series I (T250.I) Avensis Verso was a seven-seat people mover. The front-wheel drive Avensis Verso was powered by Toyota’s 2.0-litre 1AZ-FE four-cylinder petrol engine with double overhead cams and variable valve timing (Toyota’s ‘VVTi’). The Avensis Verso was available with either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission and in two variants: the entry-level GLX and the better-equipped Ultima.

Dimensions

Compared to the XR30 Tarago , the Avensis Verso was 100 mm shorter (at 4650 mm), 30 mm narrower (1760 mm), 95 mm lower (1675 mm) and had a 75 mm shorter wheelbase (2825 mm).

Inside, the Avensis had flexible interior arrangements – the second and third rows of seats could fold flat into the floor, while the second row could also slide, tilt and recline. The third row of seats, however, was only suitable for children. The Avensis Verso had 300 litres of luggage space behind the third row seats and a 132 litre storage box under the rear floor.

Suspension

The Avensis Verso was fitted with MacPherson strut front suspension and a torsion beam rear axle. [su_table responsive=”yes”]
