Review: Mercedes-Benz W639.I Vito Crew Cab (2004-11)

Overview

Released in May 2004, the Mercedes-Benz W639 Series I (W639.I) Vito Crew Cab was a five-seat van available in compact and long wheelbase (LWB) models. The range initially consisted of 109 CDI and 115 CDI variants that were both powered by 2.1-litre turbo-diesel engines but available with a six-speed manual and five-speed automatic transmission, respectively. In 2007, the range was expanded with the introduction of the 120 CDI variant and the 109 CDI was discontinued prior to its replacement – the 111 CDI – being released in 2008. The full range is given in the table below.

Compared to the Vito van, the Vito Crew Cab had a removable second row of three seats; the Crew Cab was also available with an optional three-seat front bench, taking its seating capacity to six. Furthermore, the Vito Crew Cab was fitted with a wooden floor as standard.
